The Sealed

Earlier today I arrived in Indonesia. I will be training believers in the city of Bandung which is in West Java. Of special interest is the fact that the majority people group here are the Musl__m Sundanese people who make up the world’s largest unreached people group. They number well perhaps 45 million in population, and are well known to be highly-resistant to the gospel.

The Basic Training here is being hosted by Gereja Kristen Perjanjian Baru, or the New Covenant Christian Church. Some of the participants will be workers who labor among the Sundanese people. Their approach is not to preach conversion to Christianity and becoming a Christian, but rather repenting and following the Jesus Christ of the Bible who died on the cross to bear our sins. They remain Ms outwardly. This approach is known to missiologists as contextualization. My job will be to teach the disciples how to heal the sick and cast out demons in the name of Jesus Christ to prove to the Ms that Jesus Christ is the only way to God. When they combine contextualization with miraculous signs, the workers will be far more fruitful in reaching the Sundanese people.

Already this combination of approaches has proven to be very fruitful in the ministry of our Elijah Challenge Indonesia Coordinator, Davy Hermanus, and his co-worker Elyas.

Please pray for the Lord’s grace on me to teach His servants very effectively so that their fruit will be multiplied among the Sundanese people. May the teaching be confirmed with many miraculous healings during the demonstrations. Pray that the Lord will enable me to teach in the Indonesian language very fluently…I haven’t ministered in the Indonesian language for over two years.
