Dear Fellow Heirs of Eternal Life in Christ,

This Thursday evening we will begin the Basic Training here in Houston. It will continue through Saturday. We ask for your intercessory prayer. This Basic Training will be videotaped with the hope that it will be edited, duplicated, and distributed as a DVD set to disciples around the world who want to learn how to heal the sick as Jesus taught and commanded his disciples. (The Training is already freely available online.) Please pray that the Lord will grant us the wisdom and grace to train God’s people more effectively than ever before. This Training will be held at Eddie and Alice Smith’s US Prayer Center in Houston. We invite you to join us for this Training if you’re in town. (Please click here for the details.)

Yesterday we received a wonderful testimony from a sister in Houston named Kathleen Beilke who has trained with The Elijah Challenge. It’s reprinted below. Do rejoice with us!

“On Saturday, August 8, 2009 I was at a conference of Alcoholics Anonymous in Bryan, Texas. I saw a girl there whom I had met 2 years ago. We were talking and she was honest and open with me, declaring that she had once again fallen into the traps of the adversary and had been using drugs and alcohol. She also stated that she had been “clean & sober” for about 40 days. As our discussion continued, I asked her what was wrong with her knee. She was walking on crutches. She said that during her episode of debauchery, she tore ligaments in her knee.

Our discussion continued as I talked about my reliance on God and the grace and mercy that He continues to grant me day after day. She listened intently as I gave honor and glory to Him. I talked about Jesus and The Twelve and the miracles that He performed in public and why He displayed that kind of power in the world of unbelievers. My gratitude of His love for me became obvious as tears of joy and thankfulness flowed from my eyes.

As we were about to get up from our park bench, I asked her if she would allow me to pray for the wellness of her knee. She said “What will it hurt?” So I went to work exercising the authority that the Lord has given to his disciples. Marie prayed as I commanded. I could hear her asking for mercy and forgiveness. I finished up with a big AMEN! We walked down the street and after we had walked a little way, I asked “How’s your knee?” Marie replied “Wow, it actually feels a lot better.” Well, about two hours later, I saw her again…walking without the crutches!

Several hours later she came to me with tear-filled eyes and thanked me for the time I had spent with her and leading her to where she now wants to meet with the pastor at her father’s church and learn about becoming a devoted Christian.

I want to thank you for discovering your ministry and making it available to people like me and my church family. Your teaching has helped develop my faith, and has brought me to a place of having mountain-moving, walking-on-water faith.“
