Dear Partners in the Great Commission,

God’s wonderful peace be abundant to you during these turbulent times.

Our Basic Training at the Union Baptist Association in Houston last weekend was a bit of a disappointment, with not a single person showing up for the Saturday session. (This has never ever happened to us before!) But the Lord has comforted us with news from Orissa, India, where as you may recall Christians suffered from violent and bloody persecution last fall at the hands of Hindu fundamentalists.

The Lord gave our Elijah Challenge-trained brother in Orissa, Pastor Subodh Jenna, favor with the President of the Baptist Union in Rayagada (a city in Orissa). The President invited Subodh to minister at a Sunday morning meeting in Rayagada. Subodh taught them from John 14:12, and ministered healing to those who had infirmities. The Lord was gracious to heal the Baptist believers! Subodh’s report along with photos has been posted at:

There is more good news. As you may recall, last January Subodh traveled to the mountains of Orissa to bring the gospel to an unreached tribe called the Kui-Soura. The Lord performed many miraculous healings as he preached the gospel to them and healed their sick. Because of that, the Kui-Soura tribe has invited Subodh to return to the mountain this March 21 & 22 to preach the gospel to a gathering of 2,500 Hindus and Christians from ten different villages. The amazing thing is that these villagers are part of the same tribe who initiated the persecution against the Christians in Orissa last fall! The Lord in His wisdom is going to use Subodh to reap a great harvest from the tribe which was the primary persecutor of the Church in Orissa! You can read more about this exciting development at:

Finally, a third praise report for you. Pastor Joshua Gowda, the Director of The Elijah Challenge Training Center in India, reported yesterday that at their Feeding Event last February 26 a harvest of 380 Hindu souls was reaped, resulting in the planting of three new churches.
