The Anointing in Central Asia
Thursday, July 24, 2008
Dear Partners in the Great Commission,
Greetings in the name of our Savior Jesus Christ!
Earlier this evening I felt the Lord’s anointing upon me to teach in a very clear and understandable fashion even through an interpreter, and the people were very responsive and greatly built up in their faith as they received the teaching. There were pastors and leaders present as well as American missionaries and a Korean missionary. They have come to understand clearly how Jesus taught His disciples to heal the sick when He sent them forth to proclaim the kingdom of God. Jesus not surprisingly taught them to minister to the sick as He Himself did (John 14:12). This should have been obvious to the Church, but for some reason we have not see it until now. Instead the Church has focussed almost completely on the approach of the gift of healing—something which was not even available to the disciples when Jesus was with them. Instead, the gift of healing came into existence only on the Day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit descended bringing the gifts of the Spirit. Moreover, the gift of healing is primarily for ministering to the body of Christ—something that Jesus did not send His disciples out to do inasmuch as technically the body of Christ did not yet exist at that time on the earth.
The Word of God has quickened these Central Asian servants of God. (Unfortunately I do not speak any Russian and feel a bit helpless in communicating with them.)
When near the end of the session I announced that we would minister healing to people with pain the people boldly marched forward to the front and ministered healing to the infirm without reservation. The Lord was gracious and several people reported that they were healed. It was a wonderful evening! Thank you for praying for us.
One of the American missionaries present, a sister named Diana from Washington State with Frontier Missions, asked me if I was interested in going to Kabul, Afghanistan because of my interest in reaching the sons of Ishmael.
Tomorrow we will hold our final day of the Basic Training. Then on Saturday afternoon I will lead these foot soldiers onto the actual battlefield for souls at an open-air evangelistic event primarily for the Kazaks. Please pray that the miraculous healings will be many and powerful as the servants of God minister to the infirm as a demonstration to the lost Ms that Isa Almasih (Jesus Christ in Arabic) is the only way to the Father.
We just received a very encouraging update from Carl Henderson, missionary and pastor in the Philippines who is also an Elijah Challenge Coordinator…
Thank you for your gracious partnership with us and The Elijah Challenge, dear brethren.
Sincerely in Christ,
William
