Dear Partners in the Great Commission,

We just received some good news from The Elijah Challenge in India. Our co-workers Pastors Joshua Gowda and Simon Haqq have held two Evangelistic Feeding Events. The first one was the smaller one and held in village. The local pastor saw his Sunday attendance jump from about 30 before the Feeding Event to nearly 200 after the Event. He is quite happy. ((Note by Joshua Muzyka: “Quite Happy” is an understatement ;)…))

The second and larger Feeding Event was a first for The Elijah Challenge in a particular way. Usually Elijah Challenge Feeding Events are held in unreached villages, but this one was held in a town for educated townspeople. Both Hindus and Musl__ms came to the Event, and well over 400 of them gave their lives to Jesus. Perhaps the Lord is showing us that the Elijah Challenge Feeding Event approach can have wider application, and is not limited only to reaching uneducated villagers. It is not limited to reaching Hindus, but is also effective in reaching Musl__ms as well.

Do rejoice with us at the great harvest in North India. And do continue praying for the persecuted believers in Orissa. Thank you for partnering with us so fruitfully, dear ones.

Sincerely in Christ,

William & Lucille

Joshua wrote on September 24:

Dear Brother William,

Greetings in the name our Lord Jesus Christ.

On September 16, we conducted a smaller Feeding Event at Rohini Delhi. Close to 236 people attended, and close to 214 people gave their lives Christ. Our Elijah Challenge-trained Pastor R.P. Mathew called us on the telephone on Sunday, September 21. He said that since he became a pastor in 1998, in almost ten years of ministry he never saw more then thirty people come to his Church on Sunday. After his training at The Elijah Challenge Training Centre his ministry totally changed. On September 16 he invited non-believers for the Feeding Event. Many were healed and gave their lives to Jesus Christ. Brother Simon Haqq shared the gospel at the Event. That following Sunday 196 people came to attend his church service. Pastor Mathew is so excited healing sick people and sharing the gospel with non-believers.

Our bigger Feeding Event was conducted on September 18 at Udampur in Jammu and Kashmir. There we also conducted the Basic TEC Training for believers.

This Feeding Event was not among villagers, but among town people whose the literacy rate is 95%; most of them are educated people. It was our part unity to minister among educated people. Nearly 746 people came to the Feeding Event, both Hindus and Musl__m Jat people. Nearly 432 people committed themselves to the Lord Jesus Christ for the first time. Our TEC-trained co-worker Brother Mattu worked hard to bring these people together. It was a very successful event.

Thanks so much for your prayers and support to touch the hearts of this people to receive Christ in their lives and experience the salvation of God.

With love and much prayers,

Joshua Gowda & Simon Haqq
