M Kazakh’s Come to Belief in Messiah!
Sunday, July 27, 2008
Dear Brethren in Christ,
I have completed the meetings here in Almaty. They were very successful and fruitful. The saints here are rejoicing in the miraculous healings yesterday at the open-air event which produced for them an unusual harvest of souls. Some of the Kazakh believers were delighted and surprised to see M family members who had previously been gospel-resistant accept Isa as Lord and Savior. One such man came running to the front at the altar call after he heard the gospel and witnessed the miraculous healings. And many of the miracles were done through the hands of the Kazakh believers.
Never before have I witnessed such results in a supposedly M country. Among the five independent M republics of Central Asia—Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan—Kazakhstan is the most open to the gospel as well as the most prosperous with oil and gas reserves, and by far the largest in terms of area being roughly half the size of the continental United States. This is the time for the Kazakh Church to be equipped to complete the Great Commission here; it can moreover have great impact beyond its borders. The strategy (contextualization), the power (miraculous healing), and the finances are already available. From here the Kazakhs can be sent to the rest of Central Asia. There is no time to lose. M fundamentalists surely also have their eyes on this nation. Money from their oil riches is already coming into the country.
The leaders and I are now discussing a return trip next summer to train more churches and on a much larger scale. I hope that other Elijah Challenge-trained ministers will consider coming here to equip the Kazakhs.
My dear father-in-law Lukas Sadikin went home to our Father in heaven sometime Saturday night. “He has fought the good fight, he has finished the race, he has kept the faith. ?Now there is in store for him the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to him on that day.”
Thank you for standing with us in prayer for him, dear brothers and sisters.
On Tuesday morning I will leave Kazakhstan to return to Houston.
Love in Christ,
William
