Kondally Slum India Elijah Challenge Victory!

Dear Fellow Heirs of the Kingdom of Heaven and Fellow Servants of God,
We just received from India the report for this month’s very fruitful Elijah Challenge Evangelistic Feeding Event. The TEC Training Centre Director Joshua Gowda wrote:
“Praise the Lord, we had another victorious Elijah Challenge Evangelistic and Feeding Event at the Kondally Slum area of New Delhi on May 17, 2008. It was an evening meeting.
In this slum people get electricity for few hours with very low voltage. Four hundred sixty-eight people attended the meeting and close to three hundred seventy people gave their lives to the Lord Jesus Christ. Most of them were young people in this Hindu-dominated place.
In the past, Hindu fundamentalists would use many of these young people to stop Christian meetings around Delhi. This was the first time the gospel was preached to these young people and the first time they saw miracles in Jesus’ name.
While The Elijah Challenge-trained believers were ministering to the sick, all of a sudden the electricity failed and there was no light. Our TEC-trained leaders continued to heal the sick and broke the power of the Lord’s enemies. As the result of the Feeding Event, many have been baptized.
We are laboring sincerely, and the Lord is enabling us to reach many in North India. Thousands of pastors in other states of North India have heard about the power evangelism of The Elijah Challenge Evangelistic Feeding Events.
I have received many calls from Punjab and Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. There is a need to do two Feeding Events in a month. If the Lord provides funds, the laborers are ready to go and reach those unreached villages in North India.”

The Lord has graciously blessed these Evangelistic Healing & Feeding Events. The meal and festive atmosphere draw the Hindus to the event, and the preaching and the miraculous healings draw them to Jesus Christ. Now the majority of India’s nearly one billion population lives outside the cities in an estimated half million villages.
It is obvious that we need to do more than just one Feeding Event each month in a village. It is equally obvious that we need to train more teams to hold these evangelistic events in the villages. Currently there is only one such team led by Pastor Simon Haqq and Pastor Joshua Gowda. They have reached ten previously untouched villages (mostly Hindu) since last July after training with The Elijah Challenge when I was with them in Uttar Pradesh.
This July I will have an opportunity to train many more such teams. Allow me to share this with you.
Our Training Centre Director Joshua Gowda is bringing together 25 Elijah Challenge Coordinators in New Delhi from the following areas to be equipped:
There will be three days of training and meetings from July 4 through July 6. This will be a golden opportunity for me to hold the Advanced Training for these 25 Coordinators in New Delhi. After they undergo the Advanced Training, they will return to their own areas and train their own teams to hold Elijah Challenge events.
Please pray that the Lord will open the door for this Training Event in India! Your prayers have been very effectual.
The remaining financial needs for this Event are US$650 for my airfare and US$1200 for the meals, transportation and accommodations for the 25 Coordinators.
