Dear Intercessors,
I will be leaving for Kazakhstan in a few hours, and wanted to touch base with you one last time before my departure.
Lucille’s dad appeared to show improvement in his breathing yesterday. His heart is good, but he had been struggling with the pneumonia in his lungs for the last few days with no improvement. But yesterday there appeared to be some kind of small breakthrough. Praise the Lord.
Please continue to pray for him while I am gone so that he will be well when I return to Houston in a little over a week. He is still in the hospital right now.
Regarding Kazackhstan, I understand that it is one of the few former Soviet “-stan” republics that is a bit open to the West. I believe there is a large American airbase there. However, the people there largely follow the M religion. We will first be conducting the Basic Training there Wednesday through Friday, followed by an open-air evangelistic outreach on the church grounds on Saturday afternoon targeting the M people. When a dear sister in Houston who has done missionary work in Russia heard that I was going to Kazakhstan to preach the gospel, she asked me cryptically, “how many times have you had to run after preaching the gospel?” (The answer was twice—once in Pakistan and the other time in Vietnam.)
Please pray that there will be a great breakthrough for the body of Christ and the gospel of Jesus Christ to the M people through the Training on this trip! And please remember my physical safely as well.
Sincerely in Christ,
William
