Dear Prayer Partners,

Last night I taught the first session of the Basic Training in a local church here. Those who came did not appear to know what the Training is about. I look at it as “boot camp” for Special Forces of the Kingdom of God. But I was given only one hour to teach, and I was told that the people who would be coming on subsequent days of the Training would likely be different people. I once wrote a piece entitled Just Another Healing Seminar. Perhaps that was the expectation of the people.

Nevertheless, the Lord was gracious. I quickly re-organized the material on my laptop as the people worshiped the Lord at the beginning of the service. I went straight to the Scriptures which related how Jesus healed the sick when he was on earth 2,000 years ago. In John 14:12 he promised that we his disciple would do the same works. How did Jesus do them? He actually never prayed for the sick, but rather he healed the sick using the authority over disease and demons given to him by his Father. Then I closed with Luke 9 where Jesus gave authority to the 12 disciples to heal the sick and cast out demons when he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God.

After the Training I had people with pain in their bodies come to the front to be healed by the believers just as the sick were healed by Jesus in the Scriptures. As the believers laid hands on them, many were healed from their pain and testified. The saints rejoiced in the grace of God. Other people experienced improvement in their condition, but we had to stop ministering because time was running out. But the Lord had again demonstrated that his word is true.

• This evening at 8 PM we will resume the Training with the second session. May whatever material we can cover during our four days here have permanent and significant impact upon the witness of this church for the gospel of Jesus Christ. May they take the power of the gospel after they are trained to the streets, marketplaces, and public places of Osasco. May the Lord grant grace unto repentance to the lost as these disciples demonstrate to them through the miraculous healings that Jesus can forgive their sins and save them from judgement in hell.

Attached for you is a photo of what I see from my hotel room overlooking the city of Osasco. Since we are below the equator, it’s now summer here and the weather is pleasant.
